My 1.3 Multijet 75 the glow plug on the third hole from the gearbox side is corrosion when the engine is running I have notice the plug vibrate lot more than the other three plugs. I look it closer I can see the neck is separate from the plug mean is snap already. Do you think I should be remove at my own garage at home with my tools or I should send my car to the garage & remove by special a tool?

I have never had broken plug before so I don't know what is like to happen?
I hope someone can advice me what to do

Hi, :)
the plugs can snap as they are screwed into the engine..,
it needs specialist tools to remove if broken in this way,

take it to a VAUXHALL dealer for a quote;)

where are you / the car based..??

I have took my car to the dealer called 'County Motor Works Vauxhall, Alfa Romeo & Jeep' in Chelmsford they have finished remove the broken plug today. Total £83 +vat not a bad price but one thing the mechanical told me that my car oil filter metal cover is missing. Should I worry about that? he said the exhaust manifold heat will crack the plastic screw cap in the future.

There is a reason why FPT (Fiat Powertrain Technology, which build those engines) have put this metal cover over the plastic housing of the oil filter: heat from the exhaust manifold !

You garage Guy is correct, have this part reinstalled ASAP !!
BTW, depending where the glow was snaped, you should be able to remove it yourself...

Regards, Bernie
