My Stilo is pulling to the left and recently it has got quite bad, so I took it to my local dealer (I didn't buy it from them) and they said it is probably the geometry of the wheels, but for them to check it will cost me about £50, I said I wasn't paying that and that another dealer had already checked them a few months ago for free, so why do I have to pay now. I was told that if a dealer claims for it under warranty (my car is 1 1/2 yrs old) then a different dealer cannot claim for it as well, is this true?? They said this is the case for anything under warranty.

I told them I know the tyres wear down quickly on Stilos and they had to be checked more than usual and I shouldn't have to pay for this, because it is Fiats fault that the tyres wear so quick. All they would say is I have to pay for it and thats that.

There are many variables that Fiat will consider when deciding whether to pay (vehicle age, mileage, service history, etc) and one of these factors will be whether they've had to pay up before. If you find a good dealer they should fight your case with Fiat and at least get a contribution. However, if your dealer is proposing chanrging £50 to have a look I suspect they won't be all that cooperative.

Which dealer are you using? Does anyone else know of a better alternative dealer in Tashy's area?

The garage I took it to was Horners, and I rang them again to check and they still say that any geometry checks are not paid for under warranty regardless of the age of the car!!

With cars I have had in the past Renaults, I've had problems with steering on them and it was always covered under warranty, I think it is appaling that I will have to pay for this when the car is still covered by warranty, my tyres are wearing down quickly too, so that'll be expensive too, I'll try the dealer where I bought it from, although they are 50 miles away from me.

Reply to Athanasios: I asked them if I could leave it with them, but they said if I did they would bill me for the geometry check approx £50!

Thanks
