Old Vs New

All these old, dirty, useless Panda bits you're not obsessing about - I can get rid of them for you

Friend at work: "I see you're selling your car, why?"
"I'm buying a classic Fiat Panda to replace it"
"Oh right, what so you're going to fix it up, sell it on and then slowly work your way up? Before you know it you'll be driving Beamers and Merc's"

They clearly don't understand :D

 Surely it's not possible to work your way UP to a BM/Merc??!! This is whether starting from a Punto or a Panda.

No they won't get it, their loss. Compare notes in 5 years and see how much they've achieved - depreciation/fuel/insurance/repair costs/people thinking you're an ar*e - you'll win at top trumps & be let out at junctions!!! (y)

Not if you buy a nice old Merc for £250. :p ;)

Which I did once... -- a nice 190E, that just needed a new thermostat: even though it had over 200,000 miles on the clock. I owned it for just a week (and still had the replacement 'stat, in its box, in the boot...), when a taxi driver rear-ended me (and wrote it off) at a junction, at over 60 mph. Thank goodness for crumple zones....

I was at work and there was a Mambo Yellow dream machine in the carpark, it had been there about 30 minutes. As I was bored I said to my manager "Thats what you want." He said a neighbour had one, 2 seconds later another Mambo came into view :yum: and parked next to the other one. :slayer: The carpark was pretty empty, so they only parked next to it, to park next to it.

I decided it was time to look in the carpark, there was a third one about 30 feet away.

I think the Panda gods were after me. (y)

Must've been a MACH 2 panda :p

They are pretty quick off the line if you use launch control! Put into 4wd, rev, and dump the clutch. In 4wd they just launch forward like a rather blunt rocket!!

Only done it once as I don't want to break mine, but was told how to do it by a friend - he abused one years ago when a callow youth, and launched from every set of lights for years - nothing quicker apparently!! (y) Certainly it works - I can't recall what it was revving around beside me, but The Panda left it standing.......... ;)
