Ok so on ebay last night there were no less than 8 classic pandas for sale, including a mk1 4x4.

So including the ones on other sites, I count 10 available right now and most are sensible money!

I wonder why they've all hit the market together? Hopefully more new members for here!

Edit:

I forgot to include the ones in classified here too so that's another half dozen too!

I'm playing fuel light bingo, i've driven like a **** all month and i'm at 290 miles.
I daren't push the car to 300 again though... dare I?
Being a student, I've always driven a lot on the fuel light. How many miles into the fuel light are you. So far in the Panda I've only done about 20 miles after the fuel light comes on. Did 55 miles in my big Punto on the red light once.... it was scary.

The most i've done with the light on is around 15 miles. But then the fill-up was only 33 litres, which mean't me still running on just under 2 litres. Which is around 20 miles. In theory you should get 35 miles on an orange light. More if you turn right. :D

Don't try this at home.

I'm always slightly sure that one day I'm going to turn left with barely any petrol and the engines just going to splutter and die. When I have low petrol I try and take the widest turns when going left, as if it'd make any difference...

Nah, I ignore the orange light, mine comes on when there is a good quarter tank left.

I go by the actual needle on the fuel gauge, when it gets through the 'red' and starts touching on the black bit before the white bit.

One day I'll take a can out with me and run it dry just to see where 'empty' really is.

Oh my life is just so full and exciting :slayer:

on the 4x4 its a bit strange.. mind you with me rebuilding my tank i also cheated a little and bent the fuel pickup down so it reached all the way into the bottom of the tank in a bit of a sump i hammered into the bottom of the tank.

when i had the tank to bits, i played with the float and found that (with the extended reach) when the needle rests on the end stop i still have about 5 liters left.

however.. i took all of the slosh plates out of my tank so i dont half have a needle that does some dancing around. i know i am really low.. almost cutting out low.. when the needle stops moving when i pull off, brake or turn.

I found empty is when the dial doesn't move between ignition being off or on

I never let mine get that empty, it starts using the silt at the bottom of the tank and that's definitely not good for it!

That's an old wife's tale - it draws from the bottom of the tank regardless of if its full or empty, and with the exception of the 4x4 they're all plastic tanks so no sediment falls from the inner tank lining to form.

I'm probably going to regret asking this... -- but why...?
