Think my cat shield has been rattling. There's two eyelets at the back end which do nothing?

Firecolour suffered the same so I pulled it off. I read somewhere that is only fitted so that any exposed metal is below a certain temperature (eg 100C). As the CAT runs hotter than this, the shield provides that thermal boundary.

The car will work OK without it. Just don't park it over long dry grass after a long run :D

I have a big favour to ask of anyone on here going to Stanford, on Sunday.... :worship:

Allie ("Mrs homeward") will be coming with me; and, as yet -- because Pippin worked so well as a birthday surprise... -- knows nothing of Betty being mine.

So, please, no mentions!

And, when I hand stuff over to VmanC (for Betty -- unless Panda Mo can distract Allie...), it's because he's going to spend some time on Pippin, sorting him out, later in the year.... :D

Thanks, guys and gals...! :slayer:

Let's hope Mrs Homeward doesn't take after Panda Mo and start posting n here and then find out

Although its a pain I can't make Stanford, it's good also, as know me I'd let the cat out of the bag

To help slow down all that 769cc of powa. Extra weight is what you need

So a friend says to me tonight, "one of your tail-lights is out"
Fine I'll sort it later, get home, check tail lights and brakes lights both fine.

Well thats another problem successfully solved.

One day, though, you may have to resort to smacking its bottom...! :D

When I was in the convoy to Chiltern Hills, one of my brake-lights stopped working. I tried everything -- including replacing the bulb -- but to no avail.... :(

A sharp clout on the rear wing, just next to the light, by Palio, solved it immediately, of course....

These Pandas and their moods. I dunno....

I suspect it was the edge of the light at the side - not sure I apologised for hitting Pippin

It's pretty much routine maintenance on an old car unfortunately. Sometimes bending out the tab on the bulb holder helps if it's that causing a bad connection - don't do it with the light on & using a screwdriver though as you'll only have to buy a new fuse.......

No need to apologize! You solved a problem; and Pippin obviously enjoyed it...!

:ROFLMAO:

I'd already tried that... -- before your more efficient remedy (which is still working...) -- with the ignition off. Owning a string of Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts in my long-distant youth, taught me a lot about dodgy rear lights...!

:ROFLMAO: Yes well I'd tried a shortcut on a 127 a couple of weeks before, which resulted in me having to buy some new "bullet" fuses from the 'Bay as they are not readily available in the real world. Yes it was   :bang: :nutter: :shakehead:

127's are a whole new level compared to Panda's though - possibly because they've had many more years of working out how to annoy you. I did once take a 127 with fully working lights to its MOT (a few hundred yards) to find 4 lights had gone in that distance - 3 came back with an increasingly infuriated thump, while the 4th forced me to take it apart in the middle of the MOT to get it working again - yes it passed (y)
