Hi,

Last night I moved my gearbox from reverse to 1st. And then the gear selector went really loose and weak. Need to replace the selector housing. But can't remove the cables from the gearbox. How do you remove these?

Thanks
Ben

Linkage is pushed on to a ball. Use a fork shaped lever, like a door trim remover,or two screw drivers but try to lift centre part of bush,NOT the out side of bush as metal ring may slip over rubber bush(new linkage then required).

If gear lever now feels loose, check if play is at cable ends,as bottom nut near black boot on picture may only need tightening, before removing cables and stripping box needlessly .

Thanks! Worked a treat :) , the nut was tight and I couldn't get any gear the lever just moved with no selection.
