General Gearbox earth cable removal

Is it just me or is the earth connector on the gearbox really difficult to get off?
I've undone the nut and the bolt has come out but tops out above before it's clear of the housing above it. Can I remove this "housing" to get the bolt out?

I think it's the battery tray, been ages since I did it though. Disconnect the Battery, take it out, unbolt the tray and hopefully you should be able to get to it.

Done it without taking things off!!
