I have just fitted new bushes to the gear lever and linkage on my daughter,s 500. Whilst under the car I noticed that the long rod linkage is not directly in line up and down with the shaft on the gearbox and the rubber lollipop joiner runs uphill. Is this normal? I would have thought it would work better in a straight line.

There is quite often a bit of "mis-alignment"----check that the gear-box mounts haven't collapsed or are broken

It's got a new gearbox and new mounts. It's a 126 engine was wondering if it might be mounted a bit to high.

The mount is slotted but it's already as far down as it will go. I could make up spacers to lower the bracket .

Large washers between the body and the gearbox mount will suffice.
