Hello ,and welcome to FF, 
your problem may be either a worn selector / cable, or the gearbox itself..,
how many miles has the vehicle covered?,
maybe look / ask in the current Bravo section,

Much more likely to be third gear syncro ring. Which means the box needs to come out and be reconditioned. Are all other gears ok? Check for oil leaking from the box could be the cause. Does it go away after the car is warmed up properly? If it also jumps out of gear could be a bearing. Good luck! Is it a 6 speed?
