funny number plate

been googling this all afternoon and got nowhere. I was following a car earlier, a skoda, displaying white and yellow number plates, the correct uk font and a makers mark in manchester. only the format was two letters, three numbers two letters. (AB123CD)
anyone got any idea of where this plate comes from?

Took about 30 secs to find so dont know what you have been searching for all day

I thought that too but it wasn't in the French plate font/design/colours (white frint an rear) but was in the uk font/design/colours (white front & yellow rear)
at first I thought it was a Northern Ireland plate but it isn't.

Could be a diplomatic car, although I'd expect something a little more glamorous than a Skoda. Mercedes, BMW, etc.

see plenty of diplomatic plates round Manchester, they are usually three numbers letter three numbers (123X123 or 123D123)
