My Fiat Fiorno which is 2012 1.3 95bhp engine adventure has a smell of fumes inside when stationary, also when I arrived home I quickly lifted the bonnet and could smell fumes around the engine which quickly went. My local garage (non Fiat) could not find any fault with it. I would be loathed to take it to Fiat garage for them to find the fault (the cost). I also have had the oil changed before its time owing to have been in the engine 2 years and jet black in colour. Does the DPF settings have to be reset so the engine knows it has a clean filter and fresh oil or wait till it tells me on the dashboard the oil needs changing? Living in Scotland and the nearest Supermarket is 20 miles away I don't think I will have issues with a blocked DPF. I hope someone can throw light on the fumes issue.

Hi,
YES - service light AND oil degradation need resetting,
see the MANY threads in 500 section ( same engine),
MultiECUScan is great for this;)

Thanks for that, I thought so. I have had a word with the local Fiat Garage who have said the fumes could be due to injector seals being faulty, I hope it not going to be too expensive. It's booked in at my local garage next Wednesday.

This maybe related to the crankcase recurclation pipe that has split............
This was an issue with the late Puntos..............I replaced two on the same engine.
The later pipe is higher spec. and seems to have cured the problem.
It should be a bit of a doddle to change.......BUT it may have just worked loose from one of the ends. On the Punto petrol engine , the pipe can come loose from the connecting point under the air cleaner....Having said that, I have never owned a diesel , so am not sure if you have that PIPE???
Worth a look, before you take it in to another dealer.

Garage now diagnosed injector seal fault on No2 & No4 injector. Also the battery needs changing after "stop start not available warning" came up. Now waiting to see how much it will cost. I have been warned if the injectors are damaged on removal it will need 2 injectors as well. I hope it's not too big a bill.

I guess you can always hope......but expect a serious figure, which could get worse if the injectors are problematic, and they normally are..........
Not a happy start to 2016 for you..........
Cheers Qube O.

did this fix the issue..??

battery - give it a proper charge off vehicle( on bench),
should work ok after..,
then IF you want to replace it you can buy online for @ half the cost..,

Yes it did work, no more fumes. I agree that the smell was terrible when stood in traffic.
