Hi Fellow Qubist,

Here's a new one, up for comment, or your thoughts.

As you all know my Qubo is fantastic on fuel. I 98% of the time use Shell Regular Diesel..............I have, because of the hype, on two occasions used Shell V Power Diesel, and paid the extra for it. On both occasions, with a tank 90% full of V Power, the car has performed less well, its been down on its acceleration, and the MPG has dropped considerably. My normal 50/50+, has gone down to 46/47. This when using a fuel which it is claimed will give you more power and MPG ?? Why ?? I have no idea.

Supermarket fuels I steer well clear of, unless its a silly offer like 5/10p off a litre, and a.s.a.p. after I'm topping up back with the normal Shell Regular. I do have a Shell Card which anyone can have, that gets you 1p off a litre.

Take care, Qube O. :idea::idea:

Are you using Shell regular Diesel or Shell Fuelsave Diesel when not V-power?

Might be worth a battery pull for an ecu reset when using V-power next time so the ECU relearns the parameters of V-power.

I'm using V-power in my Bravo ATM, only 2 tanks in though, not noticed a real difference, but will continue until the new year which should see at least another 2 tank fills.

Hi Most Easterly Pandas,

Thats a good question, I'm fairly sure its the Shell Regular, but not 100%. Only filled up yesterday, but when I next drive past the pumps will take special notice and post it on here.

Looking forward to hear how you get on with it ...........

Cheers Qube O. :):)

I've filled the Venga up a couple of times with the V-power, but must admit that until I read M.E.P. post, i'd never thought about an ECU reset.
The Venga's mpg stayed about the same, but we were on our way hame frm Ilkley, so most of the driving was done on M/way.
I once put Tesco Diesel in the Qubo, and to be fair it did run ok, but the next morning when it started from cold, saw a rather large dirty cloud of exhaust fumes, which was not the norm for the Qubo.

Cheers Ian,
p.s. Like QuBe O, i'll be watching M.E.P. posts for further info.

I know I seemed to get more out of the tank on the first part on this of V-power, 200 miles to a 1/4 (58/59L tank) which will normally do about 130-160ish on my daily 50 mile round trip to work and back, however a lot was 60mph cruising on motorways for decent streches (although also did consist of a bit of inner London driving also), where as in sunny Suffolk, it's dual carriageway followed by roundabout after roundabout (n)

I did also brim it enough to have a tiny bit dribble out  although I do try and brim to the same point with every tank full.

Not sure how this tank is going to fair though, as dad was taken into hospital yesterday, somive had a lot of cold starts with only 4-5 mile journeys and the gauge really seems to have taken a hit. I'm back to south London and back next week though, so like I say, will see over the next few tanks :)

I use Jet, they have rebranded themselves here in Bedfordshire but I can't remember the new name for them, I never use supermarket fuel. I don't use Shell just because its further than Jet.

I have never had any issues with their diesel.
