Technical fuel pump locking collar

Hi has anyone had a problem re fitting the fuel pump locking collar as I have just bought a new one as the old one had snapped but the new one won't screw on it seems too small . The dealer says its the right one but it just won't go on , am I doing something wrong or has someone got any ideas

The fuel pump locking collar is the same for all Stilos, part number 46797216. If that's the part number of the one you bought from the dealer, then it is the correct one.

Did the old one snap because you unscrewed it with a hammer and screwdriver? or did you buy the special tool to remove it with? If the former, you may have damaged the thread on the tank, preventing the new one from screwing on.

No I didn't take it off with a hammer my wife filled up the car and when she got home fuel was leaking everywhere ,so when I took off the cover the locking ring was broken and loose
