General Front seat backrest swap.

General Front seat backrest swap.

Very LTLFTP.

Does anyone know if you can swap the front seat backrests from drivers to passengers side?

Thanks, Ailurus Lapis
You can.
High points:
Remove seat base plastics.
Undo 2 large Torx screws (very tight AND threadlocked)
Adjuster rail needs moving across so it sticks out the same amount on the other side instead. Sometimes the starlock washers disintegrate and need replacing when doing this.
Reassemble in reverse order.
By all means post a guide if you are able.

I have a worn out drivers backseat side cushion, next to the B pillar.
I want to swap the backrests over, but don't know if they are the same?
This is on a Fiat Panda 2009 1.3 JTD Dynamic, with NO seat height adjustment.
The main thing that looks different is the backrest angle adjustment knob .
The drivers side knob is on the other side from the passengers one.

If I do try it I will post a guide.

Thanks, Ailuris Lapis

Yep. Identical apart from adjuster rail (thing the adjuster knob turns), also called adjuster rod in some pictures.
Sticks out further on the knob side, so needs sliding along to stick out that much on the other side instead so you can fit the knob there instead.
Have managed it by tapping with a small hammer once, and have also broken (and replaced) one or both starlock washers that hold the adjuster rail.
