So, on the JTD, do the pads just pop out once the retaining spring is removed or is it a floating caliper that requires the pads to be wound out with an allen key first?

so to take the front disk off i will need to remove the small nuts that double up as locators... dont i need to take the big nut in the centre off. THE BIG NUT IN THE CENTRE, is locked on by two indents hammerd in.

am doin brekes now so would be good to know

Cheers

Just take the locator screws out then remove the disc

Ive sacked the mintex front pads off as they was doing my head in with the squeak I know have HG pads and guess what about about 300 miles bloody squeaking again

Could it be the mintex disks that could be the prob?

Are mintex a bit of a cheap brand these days? I know they used to be a well regarded brand and had a big competiton line up, but wasnt that for MK1 escorts and such like.

I've heard nothing but bad things about EBC from a number of people driving differnt cars, seems to be more of an issue when the brakes are worked hard with them cracking discs and pads killing discs too.

Not that this is any help because I can't suggest a brand that I know work well.

Brembo or AP aside that is.
