That gives me no more info than I already know, I unscrewed and released the dials themselves but can't pull them out far enough to see behind, I'll have to have a go at doing it by feel, or maybe stick my head out the door and look through the windscreen from the outside, I just thought of that, it could work.
One thing I did notice are, the two plastics on the dials surround itself, there is a white one at the back and a black actually around the dials themselves, there are several plastic tabs along the top and bottom that appear to connect the two plastics together, if I separated these two bits could I get at the bulbs?

if you cant get the dials out of the panda dash it will be the speedo cable holding them in. pull back on the white surrounding collar and it will click back. then the speedo cable will pull out free. and given all the screws are undone, the clocks will pull out free.. bar all the wires.

why not upgrade the dash lights to something like i have done in Talon :D
surprisingly it can be done very simply... i just took the hard route and built everything from scratch. if you look on ebay you can get the RGB strip and RGB strip controller for under £10. have a look no soldering needed!

can choose what colour you can have your dash then ;)

you guys don't want to know what it looks like behind my head unit... its where the dash lights, led under-glow (that is inside the car) kit's brain, dash cam, and cb/ham radio's audio cables run through.

the worst of it is.. every cable is the same colour... black!

The problem is, I can't pull the clocks out far enough to see down the back of them so I can't see what I'm doing. If its just the two screws either side of the glass that covers the dials then I've removed the right ones...

I actually have an RGB strip and controller that I use as under desk lighting in my room. I have toyed with the idea of using it to light the dash but it's currently wired up to a 3pin plug and I have not a clue how I'd rewire it in place of the dash bulbs.

ahh right.. well the next step then is behind the battery tray. battery out, sound proofing thingy pulled forwards and "persuade" the speedo cable to be pulled into the dash through the grommet.

i guess your speedo cable runs under the heater matrix box.. just pull it carefully and it will pull through a bit enough to give some slack to move the clocks out.

or you could just pull the grommet out and pull the speedo cable off as it pokes through the grommet. a little bit.

as for the RGB strip.... it is about all i light my room up with.....:
(yep my room is a mess... what else is new Ahhhh)

Whoa.......now you have taken the rear of the dash off??? Held on by four nuts..
I had achieved getting the dash off as soon as everyone told me how, its 5 actually :p

Never before, in the history of mankind have so many done so much to get a dash bulb changed :p
I'm looking forward to your next thread.. My dash lights up but now my speedo isn't working

I had no dash illumination at all, it was a simple fix for me though.

It should be simple but for the life of me I can't pull my clocks out far enough to get my hand in behind them in order to disconnect the speedo cable :bang:

Give some wellie..pull the thing. The cable push fits..it's a tight gap..but manageable.

Unless you have hands like a gorilla. Just to be certain, I was talking about the rear of the dash..yeah?

Ok so I went out a took a picture this time, the camera can see more than I can because my phone is significantly smaller than my head,
At this point I've unscrewed the two screws either side of the glass/plastic that covers the gauges, and moved the whole lot out a bit, if I tug a bit harder nothing is going to break then?

So you still have the rear of the dash on like I asked twice...I'm bored now. On on holiday tomorrow and all my helpfulness has been used up...see you all in ten days...Be good boys and gals.
I've done it now :p

After some gentle but firm tugging I disconnected the speedo and got at the bulbs.

Easy peasy
