Anyone done a Forensic Computing Degree at all? I am going to Middlesex UNi in Hendon in Sept, Just wondering If anyone has done one? The main question i wanted to know is what jobs you may think this leads to?

Not many unfortunately. It covers the real nerdy stuff such as how data gets wrote to the physical platters on the hard drive and how to recover 'raw sector data' etc. All stuff that doesn't matter in the 'real' world of IT. Only jobs that would need it are actual 'forensic' type roles in the Police and government which are alot fewer and far between than games professionals.

Would be more productive to spend a £30k loan on drugs and getting pissed

Yes. I do a variety of different things but my strength is corporate network security. Currently work for the MoD.

Also im not disputing the fact its an interesting course and I'd love to do it myself its just pointless in the real world. If your just doing it for self interest then fair do's just don't expect a fancy career from it as it probably won't happen.

Quality, must be a bit of money in that lol. I want to go into IT as a job, but don't know whether to go Uni or just try find work as a trainee! Im doing a college couse in IT but im confused what to do when i finish!

Hmm. Hard question that. I'd say go to uni but pick a course that will help you out professionally. Or even do it part time through open Uni and look for a trainee position at the same time .
