It's a damn shame really. I've spent quite a lot on my Punto, even though it's hardly been extensively modded. Something like £500 on the sound system, about £250 on engine/braking/suspension mods, £100 on wheels (plus about £30 on paint and several weeks in the garage painting them!), £200 on quality tyres, and probably another £100 on various little things here and there, like the centre console, taillight tinting, side repeaters etc.
That's well over a grand just on modding bits, not counting all the new standard parts that it's needed plus it needs a new alarm which is probably gonna be another ton but if I put the car up for sale I'd be doing well to reach £600

Hi there, im a new member...
have been readin threw this very big forum you have here. i have heard about this foum from many different places...
and one thing that bought me to this site was this actual car, i saw it on a stand at a show, i cant remember what show it was.. and i was amazed by it...
its a stunner!
The bodykit was a one off, untill a few weeks back when another 2cings got them made up... you see, i have been researching alot into this car and have found out through this research that it is a almost a one off car...
if i had the money to buy it i would, it is a real stunner! and is worth every mother ****ing penny!

I paid 1650 for my p reg 70k mile cinq, which has had alot less done to it than this one.
I would say your price isn't too optimistic at all

Exactly, I know of a guy back in Scotland when we were students together working in Safeway he had this J reg AX GT which was the first car I ever saw with twin exit exhaust (I'm going back some 7 years) which Scorpion made him as a one off. he had some subtle mods to the body work all the wheel arch extensions etc smoothed and painted Seat GTi front spoiler molded onto the bottom of his, Golf GTi one one moulded on the back creating a diffuser that the exhausts poked through, Renault 19 16V vent etc all done by Calder Coach Crafts who used to appear in the Max Pooo type mags alot because the work they do is excellent.
At that time an AX GT was about £2000 for a good one he advertised his at £4000 and the first guy to come & look at it gave him full price.
Conversely another mate had a MK3 Astra GSi 6 speed Turbo over 300bhp proven, and over £20k of receipts, he only got £5000 when he sold it last year.
So you just can never tell, but it is the worst time of year to sell tho, maybe best to hang on till Spring if you can.

What this guys problem?
The list price for a L-reg cinq with low mileage (SX not sporting) is about £400, I was saying that's how much much a cinq is worth, if nobody is willing to pay for the mods that's what it is worth, if somebody likes the mods then you may get a lot more but it's a chance you take if you sell your car. Mods don't very often add value to a car, just narrow the market you're aiming at (90% of buyers walk away from a modded car)
I wish spudgun all the best in whatever price he gets of course, I know he knows the above. As Evo has said, you could have somebody turn up and pay whatever you ask for tomorrow.
I don't think any of us were offending him (if we were spudgun, do say) by our comments, after all, they weren't meant to offend I am sure.

well in august last year i bought my imola blue cinq, 1997 sporting, 36k on the clock, new clutch, steering coloum, timing belt, head gasket, 2 brand new sporting alloy wheels, all with 1 month old rubber on them.... spotless and in perfect conditon apart from a scratch on the roof for £1100
to b honest mate u neva get the money back that u put into a car, especially a 899 cinq, if u got over 500 for it i think u should count yourself lucky...
but hey advertise it for 1000 OBO an c wat happens.

no i am not offended at all i just couldnt belive the tosh that bloke cum out with i have spoken to quite few people now and 99 % of them are saying do not let it go for under a grand as it is unique i agree but if no buyers it will be going into hibernation
I reckon you should keep it, you'd only regret selling!
