Fog Lights wiring help

I got hold of the diagram m8, but it's on my work PC, i will post it first thing in the morning, sorry i forgot after we had a power outage. :(

The easiest way to check what wire you will need is to check what fuse it runs through, but thinking about it, you probably wont have a fuse :(. You will need one of those, an inline one should be fine. I will check the haynes manual to see what size is required.

im a complete newbie when it comes to this stuff but hopefully will bluff my way through it.
cheers

Hey, I fitted fogs to my 1.4 sx last christmas and the wiring was there from the inside bottom of the front bumper back to the place where the relay goes in the glovebox. There was no wiring from there to the switch panel though so I had fiat do it for me as i didn't want to mess with italian electrics. About the switch panel, i bought a new one from my dealer and i discovered when i took mine off the plugs were different as on yours - just took it back though and they exchanged it for the right one.

Anyway do a search for front foglights around beginning december last year and you'll find a post i did explaining what you need and what needs to do.

Hope this helps

Cheers Gary
Ive had a look behind the bumper on the JTD and cannot find any wires im am going to attempt to wire my own with the correct prior knowledge of how its done (if anyone can help me out here) as Daz says ive got the HGT switch panel.
just out of interest how much did Fiat charge?

You do realise there's actually three types of switch panels possibly four for the Bravo:

1. Without Front Fog Lights (MK1 & MK2)
2. With Front Fog Lights (MK1)
3. With Front Fog Lights & Temperature Button (MK2)
4. (possible) Without Front Fog Lights but with Temperature Button (MK2)

Why don't you wire in an after market switch so much easier and its very easy to install. But i guess you have the switch panel now.

Best of Luck to ya.

k does this wire do anything as i read a post for a year back where some bloke said he brought a wire from Fiat that cost £20 that linked somthing that closely resembles this wire to his fogshttp://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1088525503.JPG

ill try again

I have a HGT switch panel
it has
Front Fogs, Rear Fogs, and Rear window dimister

Your JTD is a MK2, does it have a temp sensor aswell or not? Because the switch panel you have is off a HGT and by the looks of it its a MK1. As all MK2 HGT's come with a temperature button aswell.

I'm sure that the MK1 and MK2 have different wiring looms.

Sorry i didnt post this earlier today, we had power for the first hour, then it went off again. :(

I cant get hold of the proper wiring diagram at the moment.

As for the wiring on the switch, there is 1 extra wire (Brown) which goes from the switch to the relay with a spur to the fog lights.

Hope this helps for now, and sorry for the mess about.

I will try and take a pic of the diagram in the haynes manual with the digital camera, but not sure how it will come out.

cheers daz, ive found some yellow wire that might be some use, its got a connector on the end.
as far as the switch panel is concerned i think i may have the wrong one,
i have no temp sensor just rear demister and rear fogs

all im wondering now is if i can get some wire the links this yellow wire to my fogs from fiat, aparently according to a post from a year back the yellow wiring is there for the fogs?

Took my foglights out to upgrade the bulbs the other day and only now managed to upload them. Sorry its not a good pic its off my phone.

This is a pic of the plug that goes to the fog lights, the two wires coming off it are black and brown.

Sorry to make this a very tedious thread but..
i have a similar looking wire (as pictured above) can you explain where that wire your holding actually goes just a basic structure of the wires and where they go
thanks joske

Scottemotive, that wire in your photo looks like the same wire i used to connect my fogs. On mine it was clamped to the inside bottom of the bumper on the left hand side right behind where the fogs would go. Now you will need to get a short wiring loom from fiat which connects to this and has on it 2 plugs, one for each fog. Also the switch panel I got from the dealer was 90euro but it'd prob be cheaper for you in the uk.

Are you using a new bumper with fiat fogs in it are aftermarket ones? I wanted original ones but since I couldn't find parts in a breakers, ended up buying everything new, which was a tad expensive, but i think it makes the nose of the car look so much better

ok ill see if i can get the wire from fiat, does this yellow wire then feed into the wires behind the switch panel (via the relay if there is one)
or will additional wiring be needed? i have the HGT Mk1(as far as i can tell) switch panel and connector plug.
i have an abarth bumper with aftermarket fogs with two loose wires each light

the wire and mine wasn't yellow, but black! Anyway on mine (mk1) this wire only ran to the glovebox where the relay is. I had to run a wire from the relay in the glovebox to the plug behind the switch panel. My switch panel was the one in your pic with the white plugs. I got the other one first but it didn't fit.

I got a standard bumper with fiat oem lights. Now these didnt have wires coming from them, they had a socket on each into which the plugs on the wiring loom fit. So i'm afraid i cant say if this fiat loom will attach to your aftermarket ones.

good luck!

Gary
