the front fogs dont work on my punto90 1.6 8v!!

i checked the bulbs and they seem fine, checked the wiring at the bulb holders with a multitester and nothing!
the light does not come on the front fog light switch in the car either when i press it!

Good, one less person able to stick them on when they are not needed! ;)

Probably the switch has burnt out?

well its my new car, only just got it! just trying to make sure everything is ok with it....

i took the switch out! but cudnt see anything wrong, unless i take the whole panel of!!!

Hi,

I'm not sure what steps you've taken, but have you tried the following?

In my Punto (which is a mark 2) the fog lights will only come on if your headlights are on first ( not just sidelights), ( i think this is common to many other cars too?). On the mark 2 the fog lights also switch off automatically if either the ignition is switched off or the headlights are switched off ( so no daylight driving with fogs (yay!).

It's caught me out before, almost took the car back to the dealer for it!

yes mate i had the the headlights on full when i was trying them!

which fuse number is the front fogs! as its a bit confusing??

monkey magik, when you are sat in the car, by your right knee there is a storage compartment, undo the 2 screws at the top and let the panel fold down, on the back is a diagram of what the fuses are. if it's not in that compartment then open the glove box, above where the recess is for a book to go, turn the little dial thing to reveal more fuses there.

ive just had a look at mine. open that glove box thing again at the top with the dial you turn, look into it, on the left there is a vertical line of 3 yellow fuse connectors, and 2 white ones at the bottom, to the left of that line there are 2 square black fuses, 1 at the top and 1 at the bottom, the one at the bottom is the front fogs, the one at the top are the rear fogs.

now, do your rear fogs work?? if so, take the top square black fuses out and put it at the bottom, and vica versa. you get me mate.. process of elimination.

go and try it now mate and see if it works, chances are, if you have a multimeter on the connections to the lamps and nothing is showing then it will be that fuse.

cheers dude, one of the three yellow fuses was actually missing! so i just replaced it and bingo they work now :)
