General Fluid Sloshing when I brake

Hello this morning I heard a whilst breaking a bit down hill from the passenger side, it’s almost like a wave of water going back and forth, I done a bit of digging online and I heard it could be from the sills or something? Anyone have an idea? Thanks

How are the sill drain holes and also the door drain holes?

These can be blocked sometimes when they come from the factory by the seam sealer etc..

Much condensation in the car?

I’ll have a look when I get back to it later today, I only filled up her up last night with a nearly full tank, but I’ve never heard this before, yeah car seems okay inside

When my fuel tank is >90% full I can hear the diesel clunking around when stopping on a hill.

Do the basic checks..

Coolant level. Look

Scuttle drains.. squeeze

Any damp patches under car?

Checked coolant level that’s ok, no patches that I saw, I had a full look around the car but nothing obvious I can mainly hear it underneath the passenger seat but that could just be the sound travelling, I would like to think it is the fuel as it’s a bit of a coincidence that I filled up yesterday and it’s making that noise today, it seems like when I come to a stop the fluid goes from the back to the front or whatever way I go

Stating the obvious and this might sound daft but have you looked in the back under the passenger seat for a water bottle? I found one lodged under there when cleaning it out before and if it had been half full it would have made a sloshing sound like you’re saying.

Where is the scuttle drain

Scuttle : big steel gutter.. under windscreen..where the wipermotor lives.

So..
At rear of engine ..hanging down 3"/75mm
there are two flat looking black rubbery
plastic devices.

Give them a wriggle..
If you squeeze the broad edges.. they open out to form a tube.

These can build up lots of leaves and debris.. so rainwater cannot escape


Should really be part of the quick monthly checks.

Tyre tread. Wiper blades. Etc

I would post pics.. but the puntos outside are mk2

Still hearing the sloshing noise, I mainly hear it when I am reversing and then when come to a stop suddenly or a bit quick, no clue what it could be, had a little shake of the car and can hear a liquid moving around that I never used to hear any ideas?

I find a second pair of ears (wife/partner/friend) very helpful in these situations. As you are able to produce the effect pretty much to order at least you have a flying start. Get him/her to move around the car as you rock it to better pinpoint roughly where it is then you can concentrate on that area. Maybe get him/her to sit in the back and front whilst you drive around to see where noise is more obvious. You do seem to have looked at all the obvious ones though. I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out to be the fuel tank. My old Seat Cordoba used to be really bad for this when it was "not quite full". On the other hand, if this is where it's coming from, strange you haven't noticed it before? Maybe something has changed like the route you are driving?

You could try to run the petrol tank to very low to do a process of emimatinatiob. Find a place where you hear it defiantly like over a speed bump set near you. Run the car dry ish and then test. I know a bit of a waste of petrol but the hours u could be throwing into looking ...as they say time is money.
