So my dad was driving my car last week and he reckoned it was worse than before and that it had a bit of a flat spot and felt a bit sluggish at between 10-40 but then picked up after i hadnt noticed so probably got worse over time, u guessed it too it IS a 1.4

Any ideas?

bout a year ago but i look after it myself oil change filter change etc. it bogs down when accelerating out of corners, junctions and then piks up again

It's gonna be electrical. Best bet would be to get a full service. Unfortunately, in this type of weather any weakness in a car will be magnified.

My housemates Rover is was doing the same thing last week and that's been diagnosed as timing.
