Technical Flashing central lock button

Hello everyone,
I have recently noticed that the red led central locking light button flashes once I lock the car. Is this normal? I've had my 1.9 mjet GP for almost 3 years now, but I've never actually noticed this before!
I was just wondering if this could be related to the fact I'm having bother starting it up recently. Not sure if its some kind of fault.
Any help appreciated.

Yes it is normal to flash when it car is locked. As far as i remember, it is used to indicate that the car is locked. You can find that in the users manual...

Mine stays on solidly I think, don't think it flashes. Mines a 1.3 Mjet though.

it stays solid, then starts to flash after a few mins, my bravo does the same, just used as said to show immobiliser is active/car is locked

Nice one, I guess its one of those little things that if you have never noticed, you wouldn't know if it was normal or not
