Panda (Classic) Fizzle :)

Oh well, will have to bite the bullet and buy from Ricambo through gritted teeth.

While Cinqy didn't pass the fixes are cheap and easy for the garage to do - and the parts are available too (CV Boot (must be the season for it) and rear bearing) ;)

I think I made the best decision putting Cinqy through as even if Fizzle had passed I wouldn't be happy driving him until he's fettled.

Fizzle will be lavished with love and attention VmanC's once the Y10 is ready to drive away so this is only a temporary lay up he's still taxed and insured though. :)

Think you did the best thing in the situation mate (y)

My last few were bought a while ago, Poland I think, but they're all gone now.

John, yes they are still available for £30 each or £60 for a pair, but the postage is additional £20 over the top (the bloke which i've rung said they have 3 being delivered within next week). So not that big difference vs. Ricambrio prices + uk delivery. All over the europe the retail price seems to be about same level of 30-40 Euro.

The ricambo ones with vat and devilry come to an eyewatering £108.

So £80 seems like a bargain to me!

Perhaps if you have an order going in for other stuff we could split the delivery costs?

Cause that particular italian ebay seller must be aiming mainly in to german market, especially if he's located far up north. Lost of polish ebayers do the listings in german as well. Must be better market, there are two things wich I don't like in ebay.it- prices higher then elsewhere and only 30% sellers are willing to shipp goods to UK.

Just Wow! Did yours arrive yet? I ordered a pair after I saw the link on Wednesday and not only are they a bargain they arrived this morning, under 48hrs delivery from Italy!!

Do you own a set of spanners and a half inch rachet set?

Are you free on Sunday afternoon?

Could you take pity on a numptey who tries to fix things but actually makes it worse?

If so text "yes I would like to help a numptey on sunday afternoon" to 0800 NUMPTEY

*calls won't be charged at local rate as the number doesn't exist

Thanks guys,

I would have a bash at this (once I'd got some tools) but it's having to remove the brake cables that go through the arms which is making it a no no for me - remember the last time I tried to fix my brakes *shudders*.

Don't forget it's just the handbrake cable you're dealing with, much less scope for rendering him undriveable.

Well everything is covered in underseal and yet rusted tight too, I've got no chance of getting the old ones off anyway. The handbrake cable is all chaffed and wants changing.

Once again I manage to make J Clarkson look like a skilled mechanic.

Can't drive the car anyway as MOT is out.

Why not ask how much they'll charge to fit the parts at the mot? My mot chap happily fits exhausts etc during the mot in exchange for a few beer tokens! Whatever anyone says, cash is still king in that situation (y)

I put the parts in the boot & pay for the mot, then sort out the tokens.

My mechanical ability sounds on a par with yours John. I have similar patience and end up shouting & hitting things with a hammer. That's why for most things I get someone to do it for me!! ;)
