Panda (Classic) Fizzle :)

Looking good, but you either need to lower it or do a 4x4 conversion now:p I wouldn't worry about the tyres sticking out, the tyres on my Land Rover stick out that far, never had an issue with the law or MOTs(y)

Good to know about the tyres (y)

I think a 4x4 conversion is beyond my skill set so lowering is certainly something to consider if anyone's got any old spring kits going squeak - er or even cheap, :)

Not wishing to hijack the thread but does anyone know about 'Wobble Bolts'.?
Best to Google them; but briefly they are wheel bolt with a loose collar. They allow you to fit wheels with the PCD (pitch circle diameter) a couple of mill different to the original.
I don't know without trying it myself but old Vauxhall rims are 4 x 100 pcd and these would almost certainly fit with 'Wobble Bolts'.
(Actually I just found a reference to them on the Cinq section.)

Never used or seen them myself, but I know there are alot of conflicting opinions on the internet, some say they are fine, others say never go near them. They must be safe to use, otherwise you wouldn't be able to get them, but I know I would rather have wheels with the proper PCD.

Yes. I do know about wobble bolts.

(Although it looks like you also know about wobble bolts.)

..I did have a set when I had the Punto but never used them in anger, fitted 4x98 wheels anyway but just bought them in case I fancied a change later. Just make sure if you are using them that the wheel is centred on the hub, either with a correct centre hole or spigot rings as the wobble bolts will not locate the wheel properly as you tighten down as normal bolts would.
Watch offset too, can't remember offhand but I think the Vauxhall rims tend to be very low, Ford may be closer. (or was it the other way round...)

Had my set of weller mattig's from my mk1 astra fitted to my panda once (but not to drive on) and the centre were the same 58.1mm

Phallic decals!

What a cock up! :p

In Fizzle news today I fitted the matched lock set - including the ignition, sometimes I suprize myself. I found some of dads (t)rusty old spanners and one just fit the steering wheel bolt exactly. It was nice to put it to work and amazing that I found them.

The rear arch trim had to be cut a little as the new wheel was catching a bit occasionally, I also has to do an adjustment to the arch itself, haven't had a test drive yet though as the passenger seat hasn't been bolted back in after messing about with it the other day.
I took the seat out to see if it would be possible for me to mount the alfa seats, I could but they would be far too low as I'm hoping to give them a lift with Vernon's Patent Pending seat mount kit to enable mum better ingress and exit. Which will lead to the mk3 being replaced by a 4x4 if it's successful, no pressure there then!

No pictures of the locks as they look exactly the same as before, the arch adjustment is practically invisible unless you look for it, also I forgot

I'm pressing Fizzle into daily service to get to my new temp job (hopefully until mid December) so taxed him online yesterday. I only used him for the last couple of night shifts to try the alloys out.
I'm much happier with the ride and handling and comfort levels on the new wheels.
Still a bit of rubbing and a bit more arch (trim) has been cut out though taking the alfa rear seats out of Fizzle seems to have made the most difference! I have thought of raising the rear suspension an inch or two - are 4x4 springs a straight swap?

Anyway, Twizzle is due MOT and service in November, (still wondering if better to get it done at a garage and the book stamped (09 plate) or cheap out and do it myself?) and if times tight with day working again the mk3 may have to be SORN for a while.

I probably will get better sized tyres for Fizzles rear at some point but as long as I don't go mad over speed bumps it's liveable with at the moment, plus having time to do it will be a problem too.

Had a check round on the wheel nuts and glad report all are solid :slayer:
