Panda (Classic) Fizzle :)

The alloys are Lancia Beta ones that AndyPanda had for sale on here (and ebay). Once I saw them in the flesh rolled up along side Fizzle I just couldn't resist them, lovely chunky solid look that really suits the panda.

They are in pretty decent nick so can go straight on without a refurb just need some new (to me:rolleyes:) rubber on them and some suitable bolts.

Anyone got 8 bolts (Andy had 8) spare of suitable dimensions (no idea on sizes) they could spare as I don't want to spend silly money on ebay for a full set.

Also regarding tyre sizes these seem anyone fitted these to a 2x4 and can advise on a sutable size?

Bolt wise - these right ones? javascript:;http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-WHEEL-...Wheels_tyres_Trim_Nuts_ET&hash=item45fd2f4ac6

I'm also guessing that 165/60/14's will be the tyre to go for too?

You spoiled the fun John - I was going to say the answer is in the thread if you read it  P7 of the gibberish iirc though ;)

If you were copied who travelled in time? Andrew back to the future, or you back to the future part 2?

Nah, all good. Anyway mine's all subtle and cool and yours is all Max Power and bling:p
Also, not to rain on your parade too much but Fiat did do a front splitter with built in spots for the Mk 1. Got a photo somewhere...
Apart from that, going well(y):D

So has Beta wheels on his Marbella so should be able to help you with bolt size, (y) to the 165/60/14 tyres, though you may have to shave a little off the rear wheel arch trim to avoid rubbing.

I'll need a 5mm spacer at least as the brake caliper is catching on the test fit - don't know how that 4x4 with them on coped!

So anyone got a pair of 5mm spacers going cheap?

(or a link to some would be appreciated) Ta.

I meant Si of course.

Yup, thought you did I've sent him a message (y)

Anyway I went to the local garage to see about some wheel bolts and they said try the scrappy a few miles away.

Thought it best to test fit the wheels first - back is fine no problems sits nicely in the arch.
Front is a little wide and fouled the brake caliper so obviously needed a small spacer too.

Armed with this info took the wheels which were still in the boot down to the scrappy. They didn't have the preferred size but had nearly* a matched set in 185/60/14 - fitted (well they would have been if the locating lugs on the hub hadn't fouled the spacer ring) balanced and all very swish including spacers and wheel nuts (which I had to hunt for and still managed to get the wrong ones) for the price of two new front tyres.
So the wheels with fresh(er) tyres were loaded in the boot again and off home I went.

A bit of fettling on the spacers saw one of them (already cracked) snap in two and no, superglue doesn't work very well on alloy.

I persevered and after a trip to motosave for some quite pricey bolts I had them all on Fizzle.

Now something catches on full lock reversing out the drive but not going forward.

Something else catches if I go more than 20 over a speed hump.

I suppose I could just slow down and take it easy in the transformed to smooth and planted ride?

What and miss all the grippy going round corners stuff!

I suppose pictures are in order....

First what made me buy part worns ......

I'm very pleased, I just hope I got the nuts right or else I'm back to the shop very slowly ;)

Thanks again to Andy, the guy at the scrappy was amazed to see Lancia wheels going on a Panda and was capped when I told him they'd just come off a 4x4! :)

*3 out of 4 ain't bad.

It looks worse than it is! I will investigate a plaggy arch kit at some point.

Center boss stays on that way round - apart from when I alert another road user that they have angered me ;)

Yes I'm very pleased at how well they go, the other lancia rims were a bit too posh for him

Wow they look really tidy John fab work - I could tell you were itching to put them on as soon as you saw them leant up against Fizzle's standard rims :)

I was wrapping the 4x4 back up this eve and I have found another clip for the sound insulating sheet for the inderside of the bonnet so I will give that to you next time we meet.

Glad the rims have gone to a good home
