Panda (Classic) Fizzle :)

Fizzle's at the local garage now, gears were very crunchy and stiff without any oil.

I know it will cost more doing it round the corner but I really don't want to risk driving it about.

I have a dental appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully back first thing - don't know what will be more painful - opening the wallet or my mouth

Well he's back with a shiney new boot fitted (y)

The mechanic couldn't resist wearing the Panda Panda hat whilst backing Fizzle into the workshop - just as the no1 bus stopped outside the garage :)

Had a look underneath and holding up well with the underseal job I did last year, only crusty bit is near the handbrake cable splitter, and the drivers side cable's sheathing is falling apart in one place.
The handbrake is a bit feeble so I may as well get a new cable and try adjusting it, though I think it may be a world of pain.

Dentist was okay too, only an appointment with the hygenist to look forward to :(

edit

Had a look for the correct handbrake cable and I'm totally confused now, even eper has 2 part numbers, anyone got a spare new one (just the rear part) or the correct part number or can find me one on ebay and post a link please?

Hmmm Fizzle threw a strop, well more like the front wiper arm and wiper off the front while travelling at 65mph on the A1 tonight whilst it was raining :bang:

I suspect he's upset that I doubted his ability to be my only roadworthy car :(

Well he won't like what I'm doing tomorrow much then.....

That must have been scary! A similar thing happened to me years ago with my punto, the wiper motor linkage broke while it was raining really heavily and I was driving to work, thankfully there was a layby I could stop about a mile down the road, got my face wet sticking it out the window though :(

Fizzles has been relegated to dry weekend driving only now while he thinks about what he's done.

Funny how he's misbehaved since the cinqy wheels went on him.

I think I'll change the wiper mechanism over from the 4x4 eventually and get a modded spline sorted out sometime, I think dragonman has sussed this out with Talon ;)

Just lost a long and detailed post - touch the wrong part of the screen and they vanish you know :bang:

In summary of lost post:

Changed wiper assemblies over from LVJ to Fizzle.

Bought new wiper, resprayed arm from Vernon will fit tomorrow.

Original arm is from LHD car btw.

Suspect rear shockers are knackerated as nasty banging noise from rear especially over speed bumps :(

Good job getting wiper are done! Not ideal about shocks :( they are easy to replace on the back though

I don't know what I've done :(
, perhaps carrying haul of spares and engine for 200miles was a bit much for fizzle

The plan was once I got the Y10 into daily duties to have a major overhaul of the suspension and rubbery bits and anything else needed.
The MOT isn't far off though, perhaps if the offending bit can be identified he can be patched up until the overhaul? It's not likely to pass otherwise is it?

Hopefully some keen eyes can tell me which bit to change at the weekend?

although possibly not the best advice really, cars will very often pass with worn trailing arm bushes so long as they aren't really really bad. Try and recreate the knock with the car stationary, its pretty tricky to do so until they are completely fubar.
Once had a cinq that needed them doing and you could reproduce the knock by opening the boot and pressing hard down with your body weight behind it on the back - but i never seen an MOT man do that and sure enough it passed its MOT and i sorted it in my own time after.

I'll go with the wisdom of the crowd on this one on Panday :)

Typical that once I start on two other projects the daily takes the hump.

I've had my push bike serviced just in case cinqy goes daft too ;)

I'm sure the purple one will fly through the MOT - especially if it comes off the rolling road  :p
