Have purchased new cpeakers to fit the door panels and rear boot pillars.

Bought 5 x 7 for front doors and 3.5" for ther rear. Speakers will fit, but the origional ones have yellow wiring plug on them! was gonna just cut them and attach to speakers as i normally would, but the speaker wires do not have plus or minus indicaters on them!!
Has anyone fitted new speakers where the old ones were, and if so, how did u do it? Does anyone know which wire is plus and which is minus?

By the way, this for a marea weekend.

i used the wiring diagram in haynes to figure out which was which. but it doesnt actually say which is which, you use the diagram to figure out which colour wire at the speaker is connected to which colour wire at the stereo connector, then use the new stereo connector colour to figure out which is positive. Nice one mate!! Good looking car you have there too! Hardly even started on mine yet. Loads of money spent on the cambelt. We will get there tho.

Can you remember from when u did it which colour ended up being positive etc? Or do u have the Haynes manual handy? Im a cheap skate i know lol. But wouldnt mind fitting them asap!

Got the 3.5" fitted perfect in the rear pillars, but the 5 x 7 appear to be a little more difficult. Looks like i may need to drill :( .
What were the speakers you fitted in your door panels (jug)? I bought jbl gto8627. May have to bite the bullet and send them back:( .
They are the same size speaker(i think). But the actual size of the unit is bigger. Tried them (still in bag) , resting in cavity with door card on and they appear to fit( just). But holes are not right!
Any ideas????
