Hi

This may have been covered before but i cant find anything in the forum about it.

Last night i managed to to get the rev counter from a non immobilised sporting cinq to work in my immobilised 899 sx.

Its really simple to do actually, just a matter of comparing the circuit boards for the 'code' light.

The rev counters sender signal connects up to the circuit where the imobiliser light circuit via the black wire that is soldered on. This is why the car will fail to start when everything appears to be connected up properly as the fuel pump is immobilised.

All i did was cut the black wire and short the 2 pins that power the immobilise light and the rev counter worked!

I will post pictures tonight of how i did it.

Hope this is of use to anyone who is or has had this problem :)

Chris

There is a guide in the guides section. But when i followed it,my fuel pump was immobilised too.Il be interested to see your follow up pics...

Yes thats the guide i used and had the same problem, very simple fix. Should be able to upload pics this evening as i will be putting it back together :)

Here are the modifications i made to the clocks to make them work with my immobilised '98 sx. This should work on all 899 cinqs that have the code light on the dash when the ignition is turned off. Hope this helps!

Firstly you need to get to this stage by unscrewing 5 screws from the plastic dash (2 hidden by the clock.

This is on the back of the clocks, you need to cut the black wire as this is connected to the immobiliser circuit. The 3rd pin from the bottom and the second are part of the immobiliser circuit.

Here you can see i have connected pins 2 and 3 together with the blue wire. This will complete the immobiliser circuit and allows the fuel pump to run.

So now the blue wire connected here runs down to the fuel pump relay. I found a gromet where the bonnet release goes through just above the throttle to get in the engine bay.

I then connected my signal wire to the fuel pump relay which is the left black box above the ECU. Instead of cutting the wire i put straight into the connector, which is the one nearest the ECU.

Now put it back together!

And working great!!!

I hope these pics helped as i found the information slightly scattered across the forum so hopefully i have helped someone!

Thanks, Chris

Last thing i forgot to mention, if your cinq didnt originally come with a temp guage on your clocks like mine, then the guage on the sporting clocks will not work. To make this work, you need to replace the sender unit with one that works for a guage, either from a car that has one, or you can find them online pretty easily (around £7 - £10).

Chris :)

When i get a mo,il have to try this...Thanks a lot for posting the pics..

I got my temp guage to work a while back, using the reg of a older cinq to order the sensor.Only thing is the sporting guage reads about ten degrees cooler for some reason. But a lot better than the light set up...lol

I just did all steps to my Cento 899 cc 97' but the clock just jump over randomly for 1-2 secs at start and after he is dead .;/ can anyone help me? ;/

Sounds like you haven't connected to the correct pin on the relay

Chris

thanks for answering. I connected to the thinest wire on the fuel pump relay its the first after the ecu , should i try other pins ?

Should be black and violet? Pin 23 from the ecu if i remember correctly. Sounds like you are connected to the power wire.

You're on the right track though!

Chris

Thanks for help , i find it, it was at the right relay clock working perfectly :D (y)

Hi All
Just tried this on my 899 with 1.2 spi conversion and sporting clocks. The rev counter is working and the fuel pum is priming but on first start the batter light and injection light flashes and the car will not start. Turn off and try again and the lights don't flash the second time and the car starts. Any Ideas?
