Technical Fitted New EBC Pads and Disc's. Whats EBC's "Break-In Coating"?

use greenstuff pads and you get less dust than standard even with grooved discs

Our car has to endure heavy brake use from the constant stopping and starting due to short journey's plus there's heavy traffic nearly all day around here(junction 10 of the M6), hitting 4th gear during the day is a luxury. I have to wash off the brake and road dust from our wheels twice a week or the silver wheels look black. If grooved discs will increase dust I might just have the wheels sprayed black to save on water and wheel cleaner. :devil:

My 2 lads are going to their sisters for a few hours later, should give me enough time to swop the discs over to the correct sides.

Changed the disc's to how they should be(I hope) and took her out for a spin down the local dual carriageway. A bit of a gritty feeling when braking but it soon settled, getting better the more I use them.

Lots of brake dust, I guess its because they are bedding in.

Wheels and tyres next, preferabley with rim protectors built in.

Wow that must be the biggest gap between tyre and wheel arch I've seen on any car this side of a Range Rover!

She's not sitting properly in the pics, had the front and rear end completely jacked off the floor to inspect the brakes when I returned from trying them. Would have to move the car to allow the suspension to settle back to its proper ride high. However, she does ride a little high since I changed the springs but I like the comfy ride. Dont like these lowering springs, the ride is too hard, shakes the crap out of the car and the passengers.

I'm too old for suspension that feels like I'm drivin a go cart. Our Multiwagon glides along beautifully if I can avoid the 50 billion pot holes. Spent most my life driving vans with high load capacities(hard suspension), its nice not having a numb ass from the vibrations or having to turn the ICE up full to drowned out the rattles.

Just so you know, I wasn't born on the first of January 1966. I was born in April the following year. Was in a hurry when I sign up to the FF and I haven't been able to put in my true DOB.

So your probabely 2 years older them me.

edit they do go to the edge, them ones where they don't are made wrong, normally by someone who dont know what they are doing buying £10 disks cutting a few grooves in an selling for £50

The disc's pictured in post 13 are EBC Ultimax Slotted and cost over £200 a pair. I sure EBC know what they're doing.
