Fish tank?

Fish tank?

yes, they can be touchy. never buy an albino frog as they grow very large.
i have a small frog in my little tank. though you never see it. ive had it for 10 months and i think i have only ever seen it 5 or 6 times when i move things around in the tank.

same goes for crabs. though they dont hide as much. they will just sit on top of the condensation tray all day so you never really see them.

like i said though, i would not get anything for your tank till a few weeks after you think its sorted its self out.

just make sure you keep doing them water changes.. lol

cheers!! i did a small water change yesterday but like i said im not back until thurs :(

okay will watch out for the albino beasts, the guy did tel me i wouldnt see them. One tank looked empty until he lifted an ornament and they were all clung to the bottom!

do they need climatising like other fish? im presuming so

any item of livestock needs acclimatising when it goes in a tank, even plants! (but thats for real special plants, the ones sold are generally hardy)

take it from me however that frogs are very boring! you never see them, even at feeding time and you go about thinking they have died or jumped out..... until you do a water change and move some things around, then you see it.

have you ever thought about shrimp? they are surprisingly active and quite busy. if you can get hold of say 6-10 cherry shrimp you would get a lovely colony going.
but by the gods dont introduce them when you tank is in a state.. i'd suggest leaving the tank a good 5 weeks before introducing anything like that.
cherry shrimp were my favorite, lovely red colour and easy to see.

i do have a bamboo shrimp in my tank. she is out all the time. sits on top of the thermometer fanning the water for bits of food. ill see if i can get a picture of her..

heh win  lovely thing, sits on your finger if you hold it under the water when feeding.

bamboo shrimp are a little larger than cherry shrimp

well least its clear though mate, just dont over feed lol. it is easy to do if you think fish are not able to feed. corys for instance will go very thin if they are not getting enough food. (we use to call it "pinched") if they stay plump they are fine :)
cats are normally the last fish in a tank to starve lol

hmmmm i think the water is back to normal, but now it is of a green tint and has some sort of film on the surface (looks like algae) but is see through (not like lilly pads lol!)

also, the big plant which was growing the hair algae appears to be dying now

any ideas?
