fireworks

thats true but if we were to ban fireworks too then there would be more of them, as anything illegal just makes people want them more.....so it is safer to leave it as it is....(thats my 2 cents)....:D

well said, there illegal here and even at this time of night i doubt even iraq sounds like this.,lol.,

aint it ilegal to set them off before November 5th? surpose its hard to reinforce this anyways

I also do not like fireworks, pointless expendisure.
Were we used to live in Swanley, Someone tried puttting one thru our letter box, luckly it lost its flame/fuse before it lit. A wooden porch and a firework isnt a good combination.

They are dangerous instruments that should be kept to public shows.

My brother is in charge of setting up the fireworks night at his place of work :D I get free tickets and get to stand with the marshals instead of stuck trying to peer over peoples heads

Last year they spent something like 20grand alone!! was good tho :D

I like the display that they had at Alton Towers, it was really good.

I remember being sprawled out on a rug once with some friends a few years ago wrapped up in coats and and scarves, eating warm roast sandwiches. was really nice (y)

Only problem was that we didnt leave the park till 9pm and then had a 3 hour bus journey to get home.

funny how we have the so called nanny state but we can still buy explosives in the corner shop

Totally agree with that, custard (y)

When we live in an age when terrorism is a constant threat, our government allows anyone, and even kids, to buy what are, like you say, basically explosives no matter what fancy name or pretty coloured packaging they come in.

I recall seeing on the news last year or the year before some kids blowing up a telephone box with some 'bangers' strapped together. So any lunatic could, in theory, scale this up with a s**t load of those really big loud ones that sound like WW1 artillary (the ones that make the glass in your house rattle), and make a pretty effective bomb. All done legally (the buying, not the bomb making).

we went away about 5 years ago over bonfire night. When i got home i went up to the loft conversion and got showered in glass, a rocket firework had gone through the skylight and shattered it

Professional displays only !!!

ouch, very ouch
