Nearest you will get to this is the Hillman Imp / Singer Chamois engine. This was used on fire engines as a water pump.

The engine has a very low profile because is it actually half of the Coventry Climax V8 engine. Propper overhead cam shimmed engine (chain driven) and of all alloy contruction so also very light.
