General finally im back !

managed to pull some money together and bought myself an imola cinq for 200 quid with a knackered engine..
bodywork is all sturdy..
interior in good nick too
dropped the engine out today and hoisted the new block out the 55 punto in (which from what ive researched is exactly the same)
but little things ive noticed.. such as the throtte bodies seem to be different..
well
the injectors are different colours ?
is there some sort of colour key for this ?
and am i better off using the old throttle body ?

was just concerned certain components would be different
should be on the road early april once i can afford to tax mot and insure it all in one go.. needs painting in some places too..
crazy stone chips have caused some areas to rust a little!
halfrauds also said that my colour cinq doesnt exist so i cant even get a touch up stick !

It could well be that one or both engines don't have the original throttle body! Best check with calipers and pick the best one.

For the colour, your local paint factor will be able to make some up. The colour code is usually somewhere on the hatch.

I very nearly bought that one. Was so tempted, but I already have two cinq sportings and my wife gave me the evils. I've not got a blue one .............. yet

i couldnt resist..
i originally was going to buy another cinq straight after i crashed my old'un
but ended up buying a mk1 1973 escort mexico. which is due for a cosworth transplant (donor cars for this aren't exactly cheap)
so thats got into hibernation while i get this cinq running nice and smooth

the mk1 will never be a road car.. it will be a show car.. (was hoping to get it ready for ford fair next year) but that wont happen..
ill be spending money on getting myself a nice neat and tidy fast road N/A cinq

ill hopefully see you guys at some of the meets in the future once i get the cinq to how i want it..

my dads brother knows a few guys who can paint... so ill see if i can get myself a tasty price on getting the bonnet, front bumper and tailgate painted

might aswell de-lock the boot and de badge the bonner while im at it
