Technical Fiat Uno i.e running slow on in low gears

Hi There,


I'm completely new to this forum!


I've a Fiat Uno i.e 1998 model, I both this car 2 years ago from an old man.. However I've an issue which till now I was not able to solve!!! So here we go, On low gears the car does not accelerate at all, it reach up to 40Km & the gas pedal fully down

running very slow! this is very frustrated....


Can anyone help to solve this issue here?

On lower gears or lower revs ?
Hard to give any advice.
There´s a plug under the dashboard that can me hooked up to a diagnosis system. Do full service. Maybe it´s all mocked up.

Lower such 2nd or maybe 3rd.


The catalytic converter has been remove from the previous owner..

No this is not related to the gears! but more likely to be the engine, seem to be stuck and want increase the speed. for example if I'm going up hill the car will not increase at all.


So the car would like to increase but something is blocking not to do so!

If it´s the engine I have to know the exact type.

Have you check the fuel pump and filters? There are 2 filters. One is attached to the pump and other is on the fuel line. Resetting ECU didn't solve the issue?
There are lot of very important information in this forum.

remove all 4 spark plugs, compare the colours..they should all be a brown sand / biscuit colour.

worth checking the valve timing ( cam belt) too,
these little engines will start and run several teeth out.. REALLY dampens performance.
