Hi, Not done this before so finger crossed!
I bought a 1.6 2002 Fiat Stilo Dynamic last month and put it in for its first major service to be told it needed a new Cam belt because of its age. As I said the car is a 2002 Stilo but its only got 34,000 miles on it so does it really need a new Cam belt?? I'm not sure if the guy that serviced it thought, young girl lets see how much we can make out of her or if he was being genuine.... please help?
Many thanks in advance, Danni

Propably true. If you lived here (Norway) you'd have changed it twice already - every 3rd year. It depends on where you live and climate conditions in addition to how many miles your engine has done.

Six years same cambelt - 34000 miles, If you like the
car seriously consider it. It's a lot cheaper than a knackered
engine.

Mine's an 03 it went at 47000 with the previous owner nearly
£1000 spent on repairing it.
