Hi! Welcome here... service costs vary, would have been a good idea to confirm before purchase, I got my first service free as part of my deal. (y)

oh i am told its already been serviced, was just curious as to a rough cost of a service from a fiat dealer? just a rough guess thats all

Thanks

chris

Still best to ask your dealer, varies between dealers, which engine you have, offers at the time etc. I was quoted £440 for my 2nd service.... when I complained (we bought 3 cars from there in the last 6 years all new) they offered it for £330. I chose an independent who serviced my car exactly to Fiat schedule with equivalent quality and OE parts for £189.

Does it not have to be a fiat garage that does your service to keep your warranty valid??

No, European Law changed that, garage has to be VAT registered and use equivalent or OE parts.

Be aware though, Examiner is a Fiat tool that is essential to look at, understand and clear fault codes, not many, if any independants have Examiner.

Amongst others no doubt, Snap On do a computer whuch has a great range of "keys" you can plug in and they are circuit boards with differeing numbers of chips attached to talk to particular models, saw our Techs at work use on my daughters Nissan to reset airbag light and check engine, ABS to verify all ok.
No idea regards cost of computer or "keys" but they seem to do the job.

Yes Daver I have heard the same, but also I have heard the Examiner functionality is not easily copied. I may be wrong on that, but there are plenty Fiat Techs on here who can be precise. (y)

Fiat bronze service £79

I had the "low mileage" service option done as my car had less than 18k in 2 years, but intend to have the full service done in September as 3rd year warranty expires.
Only problem is quoted cost of £414, which I have to be honest does'nt seem a huge amount of work when I chatted with Service staff about it.

My works garage will service with OE parts for around£250-£260, much as I feel we have to support the dealer network its a lot more money to find.
Recently I have seen even the local BMW dealership ads saving 50% on service costs, anyone know if Fiat are doing anything similar to help ease costs?

In a recession someone needs to do some cost / benefit analysis, there must be ways Fiat dealers can offer Servicing at a price that encourages use of their facilities, that would create good will.

I have to say my Dealer have been bloody good to me and I would like to use them , but as you say Ffoxy someone, ie Fiat UK should be looking to stimulate us owners to support the Dealer network to hopefully ensure they are still with us when?? things get better.

Op is getting a 1.2 petrol tho :p

paid £130 for my 2nd year (low mileage service) got its 3rd year coming up next month though

:D Yea T and I go back a bit on servicing lol... bit of an "in joke" (y)

Fiat UK are nothin to do with the Dealer network though, Fiat UK represent the manufacturer here. Its the Dealerships that need to bite the bullet, my very good local Dealer has loads of work but have been put on 4 day week and had a Tech made redundant...:(

 TJV told me their Bronze, Silver and Gold servicing didnt apply to diesels when I was after my 2nd service if you recall T? And I think you endorsed that, if things have changed then dealers need to let their Customers know. Would that cost include an Examiner sesh?
