Hey, iv got the bushes to go in my rear trailing arm but cannot remove the arm, iv tried hammering the bolts, used wd40 but they wont move. anybody got any tips?

thanks

i carried on undoing the bolt and it wound itself out, take the spring and damper off first tho....i didnt because i wanted to try and do the bushes with the arm still connected. Ended up with a spanner in my face:dead:

the bolts wont undo atall they wont move they are solid and i dont know what to do to get them to loosen without snapping them

What bolts is this ???

IF i remember correctly, all the the nuts are welded on, so you should only turn the bolt.

Rallycinq is doing his rear sure he'll have some tips to follow :)

and i got to say, fiat suspensions are pretty decent as they not snap on me yet unlike hondas they are snappy happy

Iv just had a word with my dad who was trying to do it and he said he tried turning the nut and it wouldnt move so he tried the bolt and that wouldnt move either no matter how hard he tugged, he said he sprayed loads of wd40 on 3 or 4 times and hammered it all to try and loosen it too and nothing :S... and i need to hurry and get this done so it will pass its m.o.t

i was just using an extra strong rachet set i havent got a breaker bar.

i will have to give it another shot tomorrow or something.

Wouls anyone be able to put up a guide on how to change the rear trailing arm bushes by any chance?... because i dont particularly know what im on with but i cant afford to take it to a garage both sides needs doing and they want about £300 i have about £50 lol

thanks

does anyone know where i can get the full radius arm/ rear trailing arm from?? i wouldnt mind getting the whole thing for both rear sides but all the places iv rung havent got them listed and shop4parts they are like £75 each thats abit much really i normally get stuff like that for about £18 but just cant find these anywhere.

One last thing i have found that sutton autofactors have got one in for the drivers side rear on a cinquecento but not listed for a seicento i have heard on these forums that they are the same although some people arent sure but i asked them and they seem to beleive they are different... anybody know for certain?

thanks

Yes the are the same, i think the difference comes in when you have ABS.

Your problem is you can't get the old arm out. Once you got the arm off, take them both to the garage with the new bush, they will take the old bush off and fit new ones for under £50.

Thanks

WD40 isn't a particularly good penetrant, it might be worth getting hold of some 'plus gas' instead though it does sound like you'll need heat.
