Fiat Punto problem

Hi All, I am new to this site, but am getting desperate for some help. I have a 2003 Fiat Punto Active 8V 1.2 and recently I have noticed a high pitched screaming when starting up when the engine is cold. I had the fan belt changed last week, which I thought would cure the problem, but the noise is still there.

The noise lasts until the engine is warm, which can be a few miles. Does anyone have any idea what this is? There are no other issues that I am aware of at the moment.

Also, can anyone give an approximate price as to how much fixing this problem will cost? I will be very grateful for any help you can give.

Sounds like it might be cam belt tensioner..they can whistle really loud sometimes...

My money is on the water pump. Its driven by the cam belt (I believe). Best get the the cam belt, tensioner and pump replaced. As the fan belt was old the cam belt is probably due anyway.
