Technical Fiat panda 1.2 dynamic dualogic

Hey guys,
I have a Fiat panda 1.2 dynamic dualogic gearbox 2007.
The car has got 54000 milage. recently the transmission warning light has come on. While driving the gear seems to change from 1 to 2 as normal but won't go to the any upper gear. reverse looks fine. Would you please give me some advice on what the problem could be. I did disconnect the battery for a couple of hours and that seemed to fix the problem but only for 2 weeks and again it's the same problem. any advice please welcome and if anybody knows a good fiat mecanic. Thanks Koalar, I have checked the error codes with the scanner I have but it doesn't show any errors whatsoever even though the transmission warning light is on. I think I need a proper code scanner with Fiat software to hopefully read any codes. the only thing I know is when I did disconnect the battery it did fix the issue for a couple of weeks. do you know any good fiat specialist to at least diagnose the problem

And many more will connect to the gearbox module

A generic code reader will only connect to the engine module

A local friendly garage might read the code for you

I don't know anyone in the London area

There's someone in stoke on trent somebody on here recommend a while back but I guess that's too far out

Most garages should be able to read the code for you

Posh ones will probably charge like a heard of eliphants

Back street garages are a bit more hit and miss, most will but not all.
