Hi there can anyone help please?

My multipla was running perfect then the battery went dead. I replaced battery then the problem started. The car would start but when warm it wouldn't start off the key but would if I bumped it. This went on for a few days. I noticed the fuel filter was loose so I've replaced it thinking the seals maybe gone. Again it will start off bump and off the key within 5mins of turning it off but not off the key from the start. I've checked pump ect fuses ect and from what I've looked at all seems ok anyone else had the same problem or can help please. The engine management light is on since I changed filter and is now in limp mode. Any ideas or advice will help. Many thanks

Hi all

Today's been mad.

First of all I had a scanner put on the car it came up with faults for crank sensor. Air flow meter and egr valve so I replaced crank sensor and air flow meter not egr as I just didn't think this was an issue. I then had it really scanned the scanner cleared the crank fault but it wasn't able to clear the other faults basically the scanner was saying that the egr and airflow meter wasn't working! At this point I wanted to give up. I then put a meter across the airflow meter and that showed it was working. The garage said it was a ecu issue and I'd need to replace that ect. So I went to my local scrap yard which quoted me 150£ for ecu key immobiliser ect but the kindly let me try it whilst I was there which I did but the same bloody issue so I didn't purchase it thankfully. When putting my ecu back in I came across a 15 amp fuse next to the ecu in the passenger footwell and me being me thought I'd take alook and it was blown!!!!!!!. I replaced the fuse and all my problems had been resolved a poxy 15 amp hidden fuse was the cause of a lot of money 5 days of soaking wet blood sweat tears and swearing. A 15 amp fuse is gonna haunt me.

Few vodkas tonight.

But thank you all for your help and advice and I hope this may help someone else with similar issues.

P.s I have a crank sensor and air flow meter kicking about now lol

Garages and their "NEW ECU policy" - how else do they afford their 2 week holidays:rolleyes:
