fiat multipla 1.6 coil problems !!

hi can anyone tell me what the coil resistance values are for a multipla 1.6 , i suspect the coil to be the problem but would like to check it before shelling out on a new one ( they are not cheap ) my engine is cranking over but no start , changed the crank sensor aswell recently so im at a loss , hope someone can help ..thanks gaz:bang:

Check for a live/earth with ignition on and switching signal when cranking. Use a led test light to check for signal switching. Don't know the resistance values. Sorry
If you have diagnostic equipment you could check for cranking signal on live/actual data readings.

thanks will do , ive replaced nearly everything in the last few months but while driving the other day it just packed up all together but car had an intermittent missfire for a few weeks beforehand , now it wont start at all :bang:

is it sparking? ,
does the fuel pump run.., do you get injected fuel..??

hi yes pump is working and getting fuel , no spark at all at the coil ? is it right i should have a permanent live going to the coil from the 3 pin connector while ignition is on because it seems that ive no live ? ive checked all the fuses and all ok , any help appreciated gaz

Is there any fiat mechanics on the forum that could give me advice on what to check for ?

Well I have more questions as I'm not familiar with the multipla

1) What year?
2) Does it have a distributor?
3) Are the spark plugs fed by traditional HT leads?
4) Is there just the HT one coil?

hi yea sure my car is 1.6 16v
2001 model
all leads seem normal
it has a multipack coil its 4 in 1

I can't find multipla wiring diagram but I'm pretty sure it's same as stilo, looks like injectors and coil have same live, 10amp fuse and switched by engine control relay. When you find the relay check for a live a pin 30.

Hi my scanner wont pick up stored codes , its not throwing up any codes at all i wish i had multiecuscan to try on it

latest update !! car still not going :bang:..replaced coil and plugs and got it started but not firing on number 2 cylinder , its getting fuel because the plug is wet which makes me think could it be the ecu not giving a signal to no 2 cylinder , the resistance for all 4 injectors is 15.4 they where all replaced less than 6 months ago , can anyone shed any light on what i can try next i need me multi back ..cheers gaz
