Brand identity gets lost. No other car manufacturer changes their logo.
Not technically true VW changed there logo last in 2019,
Mercedes fiddled with theirs in 2011.
All the manufacturers do play about with the logo a bit from time to time it’s just for some weird reason fiat like to change the entire thing completely each time.
Fiats statement on it each time is that it’s to keep up with and reflect the styling and reinvention of the company each time.
The switch from the blue to the red corresponding with the launch of the 500 in 2007 and a return to classic fiats from the 1950s.
But then more recently with electric cars they moved
To a more minimalist badge with just the letters spelling out fiat.
I’m guessing they feel because they’ve not stuck with a single style/logo throughout the duration of the company they don’t feel they need to now.
One thing that has been consistent since the late 1990s is the style of the lettering in the way they write “Fiat” on the logo with what they call a ‘bent’ A. Which was something they took from there pre 1968 logos
There are subtile themes they keep going back to even if the whole badge seems to change each time
