Hi everyone,
Whenever I drive over bumps on the road the instruments panel interior light flashes on/off and also my hatch door open red light flashes on/off.
I know the hatch door is closed.
When I lock the car with the key I get multiple orange light flashes instead of the usual 2.
This happens randomly.
What could be causing this?

Thanks

Zaxa

It's the earth leads failing. Have a look at the stickies. I ran a second earth lead from the battery to the engine to cure mine. And just recently I saw the original earth lead from the chassis to the gearbox had rotted through.

Very common issue, repeatedly answered here in the forum:

Almost ALL of the electrical Strange behavior on GPs (and generally on cars) are due to electronics not getting the strong and stable power they need !

The culprits are most likely:

- bad earth points (cable rotens Inside)
- corroded battery terminals, clean/replace
- weak battery, if replacing instal the strongest possible (might remove the plastic block on the tray)
- bad alternator, specially on UK cars (RHD), there is a mod to avoid water getting in...

BRs, Bernie
