Technical Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 65HP Gearbox replacement

Hello,

Please help
I have Grande Punto 1.2 8v (65HP) 2006y. and few days ago my gearbox broken. My clutch was making metal noise so i took my fiat to car mechanic.
He checked it, and said that i have to search for a next gearbox.
I got code on my gearbox:
C514.513.44
73502791.1
Does that mean that i can put Gearbox from Fiat Panda/500/Punto II if they have same code?

Yes.

That gearbox was used in multiple Fiat models. Same code = same gearbox, no matter what car model it was in.

Be careful - the gearboxes may be the same and fit on the car...

But the internals won't be the same. Panda & 500 have different gear ratios and final drive to the heavier Puntos & Grande Puntos.

It's been done before, resulted in taller top gear but reduced acceleration.

I would try to stick to a gearbox from the same spec model if you can.

You can use same gearbox from:
GP 4C 2008-2009 1.2
GP 3X 2009-2013 1.2
GP Evo 3J 2009-2011 1.2
GP 2012-2013 1.2

After other C514 will work, but could be necessary to change support/case from old and gear ratios could differ.
