Fiat forum track day

Hey All

On a big circuit like Donington you can run upto 85 cars, Sounds alot but when your operating open pit lane it works really smoothly plus to make sure we break even track day organisers need to hit these marks which is becoming really hard due to massive circuit costs, Tracksport realise this so we have gone down the route of running small 6 to 12 car corporate days which claws the money back and reduces the number of cars on track giving club/forum members and regulars more track space, im glad that on this friday date we have a small corporate on so there will be nowhere near 80 cars more like 40 to 50.
Yes discount will applie to all tracksport track days but more numbers that attend the bigger the discount, but we only use the introductory price once but will giv it the odd person who attends a future event due to not going the first with the rest of the club/forum :slayer:

johnny, what a superb response and amount of information, thank you

would love to do the 3rd november, but its too soon for me, would prefer early next year tbh as i will be in a much better financial position and will have got all the probs with the car sorted :D

yeah that sounds better, also lets see if we can get enough people so we can get the 10% discount and the free photo's, i know i want alot of me going round the course, how does that "free photo's" thing work, is there a camera man on the course or will it just be like group photo's of people?

oh man i really want to do this! :)

once we've found a decent date, we should put together a "who's going" thread, so we can judge the numbers.

perhaps jan not a good idea, as it'll be cold and icy..

Thanks guys hey im here to help,(y)

Nice to see the interest, Okay we have professional photographers on circuit which rotate to each corner and beam the image back to there lap top etc which is set up in the pits, there you can view the pics at the end of the day, they also have a website where pics can be viewed or bought, Our website is about to change for the best and will have its own pic area,

The 3rd will be a good day but these things neednt be rushed and planning is best, we will have a couple more dates up to Christmas after the Donington date but we are still waiting on MSV for that, there may also be a Mallory before hand but thats in the pipeline,

We dont get given next years dates till right upto Christmas as we have to wait for the racing calendar to be realesed before the circuits dish them out amongst us.
Yeah if ya not to good in ice cold conditions then i wouldnt book anythin in the first couple of month's (y)

the only perk of ice cold conditions is the cars run better on that lovely juicy cold air :D

for me after christmas is going to be the only way in all honesty, as i will need to get all the obligatories done given the time of year, plus a couple of big familly b'days and needing to replace all my engine mounts rubbers and bushes etc throughout the car first... then poss some more upgrades, but need a good base to work from

Morning Guys

So what cars will you be taking on track? you going to use your own day to day car or do you have a dedicated track car to use?

Lots of people take there own car on and buy a spare set of second hand wheels of ebay and stick some slicks on just for the track day, you would be suprised what a set of slicks and harder suspension will do.
Because i like to tinker i would me i would buy a cheap car with a decent engine non-turbo and every weekend spend a little money and time on it getting it ready for the track.

keep it cheap, look on ebay and find stuff like a roll cage, bucket seat and up rated turbo brakes from a breakers believe me ive been there and its really rewarding when your catching a wallowey cosworth or turbo nutter barge round a tight and twisty circuit puts a big:D on ya face!!!

wouldn't it be best to try out differing quotes first? for example some tracks might cost significantly more than others and others may have differing regulations as to there use? i would hope that castle coombe is considered! it's quite a good track apparently and it's close to me :p

Hi everyone and good point Besbie

Most of the UK's circuits are simular in price i mean there isnt a standard price all year as there reasonable should be because a marshall or medical team doesnt ask for more money coz he or she's sweatin or freezin there toes off!;) the circuits know more people are willing to do track days in the summer so they raise there prices knowing people may not be happy but will still have to pay to get on circuit.

There not all this bad but simular, for us Anglesey is the cheapest circuit we use and there a family run very friendly and well organised circuit with prices as low as £99 in winter and £140 in the summer,
Motorsport Vision (MSV) own Oulton park,Brands hatch,Snetterton and Cadwell Park. They are the most expensive of circuits at summer prices being £250+ and winter prices at £99.
Donington Park are also a friendly and very profesional circuit with excellent facilities there prices are £195 summer and winter £140
We are currently in talks with Mallory park and also Cadwell park so were not sure on there price's as of yet.
