Hi,
PLEASE NOTE:
I forgot to say, Nottingham has some really bad speed trap areas. They are fixed speed traps that use digital photography and possibly a time elasped idea. I.e. they see when you pass camera one at time 0, and when you pass camera two at time 20, if this is over the speed limit they book you, all computerised and sent off within a few days. You can lose your licence if you don't realise this going down one road.
The main roads which have this type of system are the ringroad (which many of you will go down probably). If you go down it, it is a limit of 40 and YOU MUST KEEP AT 40, there must be 12 cameras down the ringroad, get caught them by all for doing 45 and that's properly it for you. The second main road is the lead up road to the ring road if you come off the M1 at a certain junction, although I can't remember which one, sorry. Somebody should be able to help me out with name. On that one it's 30, and you will notice everyone on that road (which is a lane plus a bus lane) doing 28. There's one other street but i doubt any of you will go down there.
We don't have a huge number of permament but these big blue posts with cameras on are noturious at keeping the law in Nottingham, i drive the ring road every day to school and I hate having to stay between 39-40mph exactly. Yesterday I was caught trying to get passed 2 cars in a third lane which went to two - I should have dropped back behind those two cars but I was committed - and I went to 42mph to try and get passed them. I really shouldn't have done that because the cameras are good!
Rgds and hope this is of help.
Paul
