It says its 1 mile from nottingham town centre, has an ice rink nearby....has a pub and restaurant onsite...and if town centre is nearby then that means PUBS!!!!!!

Just for your info (I am from Nottingham):

The travel inn is pretty much in the centre and although I don't drink much I can assure you that you have an "abundance" of bars/pubs within 2 mins walking distance. I can't picture exactly where it is but as I say, it is practically the centre. I think they have just built a new travel inn (looks awful!) but I don't think this open yet. Ice ring and train station is at the opposite end of town, approx 15 mins walk.

Anything else I might be able to help out with Nottingham, just ask and I will try.

I was thinking that, but then the Travelodge (or whatever it was) in Coventry was also limited parking, but had LOADS of room....

Might be worth getting somewhere a bit in the sticks, then taxi'ing to the city centre?

Nah, try telling that to Travelodge in Birmingham, about 150 rooms (i'm guessing) and 20 parking spaces! The NCP over the road was only £4 a day though, so wasn't too bad

Just so you know, Castle Marina is a retail part type area in that place, not sure exactly where the hotel is but I assume it is near all the big superstores. It is a long walk to the city from there and you wouldn't do it. When it says insight of the castle that is mainly because the castle is on a huge cliff and this happens to be in the right direction. just thought you better know.

Hi, the station is at the bottom of town and still a good 500m walk to just the main shopping bit. It would be a 3 mins car journey but you would only want to walk it once and it isn't as central as it sounds. You wouldn't want to walk that far after a night out...taxi wouldn't be too costly. The one at the top of this screen is literally in the town where as this is on the outskirts a bit more. It's not far, just not central.

Right, looking at Travel Inn site (Who also have one next door to Holiday Inn) they both claim 500m to city centre, so I think its safe to assume they'll be ok.

There is a GrillBar over the road, which could do for a meal and has a large car park to accomodate. This wold allow people to have drinks with meal if they are gonna crash at the hotel.

Not sure about pub nearby though ... need some help on that (for after meal). Obviously later on, the younguns' can split to the city centre or whatnot to carry on.

So really the only thing that remains is about meeting. IF there is a pub near, do we all meet there, have food, back to pub and pair off... OR do we go for the bowling alley first, then go back to GrillBar place, followed by pub -> city....
