General Fiat Fiorino (2012 model) - installing a stereo

i've got a 2009 Qubo that I am hoping to install an aftermarket stereo into.

from halfords I ordered connector set for everything all on one set, even steering wheel controls...

what type of "keys" do I need to pull the fiat stereo out?

also, regarding power... my cigarette lighter turns off when ignition is off and the stereo can be turned on even when ignition is off so I'm confused about the power issue and getting wire from cigg lighter.

The "keys" you need would be on an adjacent shelf at Halfords where you were... Two bent bits of wire with barbs filed into them - about a fiver I paid for mine. Very useful too.

thanks, I've tried these keys and only the left side of headunit unlocks and pulls out... the right side still not budging despite a variety of jiggling and prodding...

can I just rip it out with a claw hammer now? I have no use for stock head unit.

I recall having a tussle with mine when I withdrew it with the bent wire devices but I hadn't pressed one side in far enough - it has to 'click' into the back to depress the srpings on the side of the radio to release it fully, then leaning outwards on the wires, withdraw the unit.

Don't mash it with a hammer, you could wire it into your garden shed/man-cave to have a useful Radio/CD player in there!

hi, yes unfortunately the Qubo is my man-cave...

I'll try it again with the keys as you describe before I bring out my little friend (claw hammer)
