I Have a Fiat Ducato Maxi LWB 2.8 deisel. Only had this 6 months and think I may have been sold a bad one it is a 2001 ex passenger ambulance. problems just started struggling to get in gear 1st and 2nd but not all the time, started making a noise from mid engine like a constant clicking. just been underneath to discover full of filler so does any one sell inner sills. Sills aren't structural so nothing wrong when the filler there, repairs sills available from autopanels Castleford, and http://centralpanels.co.uk/index.php?cPath=65_175

Are you sure it's worth putting the money into I had an ex ambulance igot for free but when I added up the cost if jobs I decided tp put it into a van that was 10 years younger with 1/5 the mileage

I have the same model, but year 2000, as the OP with 246k miles on the clock. I did a 720 mile trip on Wednesday last with no complaint and averaged about about 23 mpg. I was pleaseantly surprised. Don't give up on the old workhorse yet.

Ducato gear linkages can get stiff, which could account for your 1st and 2nd gear problem. A clean and grease should fix it.

A constant clicking may be coming from anywhere from the wheels through to the driveshafts.
